Iuli'O 2025 Toscana IGT
Altesi, Montalcino, Siena
A dynamic and immediate Sangiovese Grosso, embodying the fresh and playful character of Montalcino’s northern slope.
The grapes hail from the historic Vigna Camponovo and Vigna del Piano plots, situated at an altitude of approximately 250 meters above sea level, rooted in heterogeneous soil composed of calcareous clay and sand. The northern slope's microclimate, characterized by significant diurnal temperature swings, promotes balanced ripening and the preservation of a fresh aromatic profile. Harvesting is carried out manually in early October, selecting only the clusters that ensure maximum integrity.
The aromatic profile is a burst of youth: dominated by small red fruits, particularly marasca cherry and fresh plum, enriched by subtle chalky mineral textures and a light touch of spice. On the palate, the experience is paced by vibrant acidity and dense, polished tannins.
Castello Tricerchi
A Historic Stronghold on the Northern Slope
Castello Tricerchi, a majestic fortress completed in 1441 by the Tricerchi family, overlooks the northern slope of Montalcino and stands today as a benchmark for those seeking elegance and freshness.
Under the leadership of Tommaso Squarcia, the estate has embarked on a journey to enhance its 13 hectares of Sangiovese vineyards, all farmed organically. The geographical location is crucial: situated at an altitude of approximately 300 meters, the vineyards benefit from cooler temperatures and clay-limestone soils. These conditions result in wines characterized by a natural acidic tension and a distinctive aromatic finesse, a departure from the warmer opulence found on the southern slopes.
