A pure Vermentino Nero from a stunning terraced vineyard. This site slopes down from the ridge toward the southeast, sitting at an altitude of approximately 500 meters above sea level on galestro soil (shale). It’s a fantastic natural stage that opens up onto a small valley where the Balenaia stream flows.

The Vermentino Nero grape seems to have found its preferred habitat here: perfect ripeness, good acidity, and a very intriguing aromatic profile. And it is precisely these three characteristics that define the tasting experience—a fresh wine with bright fruit notes, primarily cherry, followed by pomegranate and red currant. The intense aroma reveals hints of myrtle and juniper, betraying the Mediterranean soul of these territories.

Claudia e Ivan. Un percorso che nasce da lontano. Si incontrano a Dublino e decidono di tornare in Italia e quasi casualmente mettono radici in Toscana a Vinci, Famiglia e vigna. Dopo anni di studio e tanto lavoro nasce nel 2016 Balenaia, un progetto bellissimo che abbiamo l'onore di presentarvi!
