We are very excited and proud to present this Wine Box.
We have a relationship of deep esteem and friendship with Marco, the common ground of exchange has always been wine and Picchio the first bottle we drank together! We immediately understood the incredible stuff of this young winemaker and his hand so delicate and wise in telling this Chianti area in such a personal way and precisely for this reason fascinating and without deception.
Picchio is Podere Erica's most important wine; it comes from a careful selection of Sangiovese from the oldest vineyard between the woods and the winery. It is from the highest areas, on loose soils of galestro and pietra forte that these clusters are born, which once arrived at the winery follow the path proper to reserves, with long aging in wooden tanks.
Tasting these 5 vintages is like taking a journey through the evolutionary path of Podere Erica and Marco himself, who year after year has interpreted, with a spirit of observation and dedication, the trend of the vintage, returning in the glass lively and elegant wines each with its own character, which with a game we summarize as follows: 2015 classicism, 2016 harmony, 2017 exuberance, 2018 finesse, 2019 evolution.
