This is the winery's "entry-level" offering, a wine with a classic character yet a modern approach.

It's a red wine crafted to express the grape variety and terroir above all else. Made from the youngest vines, it's a lively red with great personality, obtained 100% from B.—the winery's most important grape.

In the vineyard, the approach has always been low-intervention, with just a bit of copper and sulfur used only when necessary, to preserve the vitality of the soil and plants.

This is a convivial wine, offering great typicality and rusticity on the nose, a fusion of fresh fruit notes, vegetal hints, and undertones of earth and undergrowth. The palate brings together juiciness, freshness, and compactness in a truly gastronomic drink. It's brutally elegant, where freshness and simplicity are its true strengths.

If this is an "entry level"...

From the producer

Ezio Trinchero

The Trinchero family has owned this winery since the 1920s; we are in Agliano Terme in the province of Asti, and Barbera of the highest quality has always been grown here. Trinchero was the first winery in Italy to produce and market Barbera for long aging, following the intuition to make wines of great complexity and depth with this once underrated grape.

The highly suitable territory certainly helps, as does the fact of working with almost all old vines, as in the case of the "Vigna del Noce" from which the wine of the same name is made, with plants planted in 1929.

Organic work in the field and a lot of care and cleanliness in the cellar create wines with a wide and deep breath. Rarely does one taste Barbera like this!

The winery is part of the Vini Veri consortium.
