Vintage 2024, a very generous vintage following the scarcity of 2023. This is a blend of the red grapes from my vineyard, vinified by combining direct-pressed Sangiovese with whole-berry Merlot in infusion.

At the end of alcoholic fermentation, it was pressed and aged in stainless steel (INOX) for about 10 months, until August 2025, and then bottled directly. Flavourful, fresh, inviting, fragrant, and good for any moment when you want to open a bottle and simply feel good. It is dedicated to Ferdinand Bardamou, the protagonist of Louis-Ferdinand Céline's beloved Voyage au bout de la nuit. Il Signor Kurtz

Il Signor Kurtz isn't just a label; it's the genuine "voice of wine" for Marco Durante, an Umbrian winemaker who has dedicated his mind and body to natural viticulture. After more than twenty years exploring the world of wine, including time as a taster and popularizer, Durante found his true path in uncompromising production.

The name, inspired by the enigmatic character in Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness, evokes a philosophy that celebrates nature in its purest essence: energy and enchantment, rejecting any form of domestication. The heart of the project is located in Vallupina, near Lake Trasimeno, but Marco isn't afraid of contamination. He also works in other "challenging spots within Central Italy's small geography" and collaborates with fellow winemakers to constantly push his own boundaries.
