Vintage 2024, a very generous year. This comes from a 60-year-old vineyard with typical Umbrian varieties: Procanico and non-aromatic Malvasia. Harvested at the end of September, approximately 60% of the grapes were vinified as a white wine, and the remaining 40% were left as whole berries to infuse in the juice for about 30 days.

It was then racked off and pressed, finishing fermentation in stainless steel until bottling in August 2025. It had two rackings before bottling.

Il Signor Kurtz

Il Signor Kurtz isn't just a label; it's the genuine "voice of wine" for Marco Durante, an Umbrian winemaker who has dedicated his mind and body to natural viticulture. After more than twenty years exploring the world of wine, including time as a taster and popularizer, Durante found his true path in uncompromising production.

The name, inspired by the enigmatic character in Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness, evokes a philosophy that celebrates nature in its purest essence: energy and enchantment, rejecting any form of domestication. The heart of the project is located in Vallupina, near Lake Trasimeno, but Marco isn't afraid of contamination. He also works in other "challenging spots within Central Italy's small geography" and collaborates with fellow winemakers to constantly push his own boundaries.
