Time 24 Vino Rosso
Carema, Torino
“A Tribute to Time”
The grapes are the quintessential variety of Carema; the wine is a "faster," lighter, and exquisitely elegant version of its older brother. An evocative, moving sip.
Imagine sitting before the fire, enjoying the crackling wood and the ever-changing colors of the burning flame. Perhaps, at the same time, scenting the air with the aromas of an infusion—a blend of herbs from our garden coming to life as it warms. A true luxury, nowadays granted only to a chosen few.
But what is the cost of all this? The currency in question is highly volatile and ambiguous; with it, we can be rich and poor all at once—the choice is ours. Nature is a non-stop performance for the eyes of those who watch.
"Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time" — Roger Waters, London 1973.
Sopravvento
First wine from the Melfa brothers, first wine from Sopravvento. Of this project we were struck above all by the story from which it was born (you can find it on the producer page), as for "Changes" the tasting left us in no doubt, we are faced with a glass that returns a faithful and sober expression of the place.
On the nose, hints of mimosa and chamomile stand out with notes of hay to complete the herbaceous part. Then it increases in volume with a balsamic stretch of resin and a pulpy, ripe apricot that we also find in the mouth. Taut and rightly tannic, it is a sip that satisfies for structure but also essentiality.
