Heroes! 2023 Carema DOC
Carema, Torino
Obtained entirely from Nebbiolo grapes, locally called ‘Picotendro’ (small and tender).
Once the grapes have reached the right physiological maturity, they are harvested and selected strictly by hand. The harvest time will therefore differ from year to year. Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts followed by semi-submerged cap maceration for a period of 40 days in steel vats.
Maturation for 18 months in small exhausted French oak barrels. Once bottled, the wine rests until it reaches the desired maturity, a period of no less than six months that may vary with each vintage. This wine does not undergo any kind of correction, clarification or filtration.
In the glass Heroes is bright, lively ruby red and transparent. Intense and deep nose. Hints of violet and rose alternate with strawberry jam, pomegranate and peach. On the finish it diffuses delicate sensations of mint and herbs, tea leaves, sweet liquorice and balsamic hints.
Savoury, fresh and well-balanced on the palate. Structured in development and persistence, very fine in tannin and long lasting.

Sopravvento
First wine from the Melfa brothers, first wine from Sopravvento. Of this project we were struck above all by the story from which it was born (you can find it on the producer page), as for "Changes" the tasting left us in no doubt, we are faced with a glass that returns a faithful and sober expression of the place.
On the nose, hints of mimosa and chamomile stand out with notes of hay to complete the herbaceous part. Then it increases in volume with a balsamic stretch of resin and a pulpy, ripe apricot that we also find in the mouth. Taut and rightly tannic, it is a sip that satisfies for structure but also essentiality.
