Brecciaio is Raìna's new white reserve. This is an amazing wine made with Grechetto grapes from Campo Brecciaio, where Orvieto's Grechetto seems to have found its perfect habitat and expresses itself at truly very high levels. It matures one year in 14 hl chestnut barrels and this allows the development of great aromatic depth and drinking complexity.

Raìna

Francesco Mariani's story is a very special one; he started out as a chef who over time became a wine grower in Montefalco, without ever abandoning his passion for cooking. In a certain sense, this experience ends up influencing his way of making wine: the search for the purest and truest flavours imposes a way of working the land and transforming the wine in the cellar that is extremely respectful and non-invasive in the search for maximum expressiveness in the glass.

"Raina" was the nickname of the previous owner of the field where the first Sagrantino plants were planted, and has become the name of the winery to preserve the link between the land and its history. Cantina Raìna was established in 2002 and today covers 10 hectares of vineyards between 220 and 300 metres above sea level. The soil is of medium texture and rich in skeleton, with mainly south-eastern exposure.
