Campo di Raina is a 100% Sagrantino. The most important red produced by Francesco, from a vineyard that reaches 300 mt/slm with low yields. A wine of great depth and richness, it has depth, structure and importance. Its aromas are reminiscent of berries and plums, with a slightly dried character. The tasting also reveals darker notes of leather, chocolate and underbrush. A wine that fully succeeds in the almost impossible exercise of balancing strength and elegance.

Francesco Mariani's story is a very special one; he started out as a chef who over time became a wine grower in Montefalco, without ever abandoning his passion for cooking. In a certain sense, this experience ends up influencing his way of making wine: the search for the purest and truest flavours imposes a way of working the land and transforming the wine in the cellar that is extremely respectful and non-invasive in the search for maximum expressiveness in the glass.

"Raina" was the nickname of the previous owner of the field where the first Sagrantino plants were planted, and has become the name of the winery to preserve the link between the land and its history. Cantina Raìna was established in 2002 and today covers 10 hectares of vineyards between 220 and 300 metres above sea level. The soil is of medium texture and rich in skeleton, with mainly south-eastern exposure.
