Campo di colonnello is the winery's most representative white wine based on 100% Trebbiano Spoletino. An indigenous Umbrian grape, which has run serious risks of extinction, it has no genetic link with the classic Trebbiano and differs greatly above all in the particular taste of its wines, characterized by aromatic herb scents and distinct citrus notes that determine a certain aromaticity, along with a distinct freshness and flavor.

Francesco has always shown himself to be a very good winemaker and vintage after vintage his Trebbiano Spoletino has always made us fall in love, like this 2022 that together with the citrus and floral notes, has an interesting herbaceous character, of alfalfa and hay, a present tannin and an acidity that keeps the drinkability high. Excellent...as always!

Raìna

Francesco Mariani's story is a very special one; he started out as a chef who over time became a wine grower in Montefalco, without ever abandoning his passion for cooking. In a certain sense, this experience ends up influencing his way of making wine: the search for the purest and truest flavours imposes a way of working the land and transforming the wine in the cellar that is extremely respectful and non-invasive in the search for maximum expressiveness in the glass.

"Raina" was the nickname of the previous owner of the field where the first Sagrantino plants were planted, and has become the name of the winery to preserve the link between the land and its history. Cantina Raìna was established in 2002 and today covers 10 hectares of vineyards between 220 and 300 metres above sea level. The soil is of medium texture and rich in skeleton, with mainly south-eastern exposure.
