The "Peschiera del Pacino" is an immediate and quick wine with a simple but equally engaging drinkability. The name is a dedication that Francesco Mariani wanted to make to the farmer who took care of these plots before him. Francesco himself in describing this wine says: "it's not a wine to "taste," but to drink in company and lightheartedness."

On tasting this 100% Syrah is mouthwatering with notes of red fruits, especially fresh strawberry with a harmonious and round finish.

Francesco Mariani's story is a very special one; he started out as a chef who over time became a wine grower in Montefalco, without ever abandoning his passion for cooking. In a certain sense, this experience ends up influencing his way of making wine: the search for the purest and truest flavours imposes a way of working the land and transforming the wine in the cellar that is extremely respectful and non-invasive in the search for maximum expressiveness in the glass.

"Raina" was the nickname of the previous owner of the field where the first Sagrantino plants were planted, and has become the name of the winery to preserve the link between the land and its history. Cantina Raìna was established in 2002 and today covers 10 hectares of vineyards between 220 and 300 metres above sea level. The soil is of medium texture and rich in skeleton, with mainly south-eastern exposure.
